We鈥檙e delighted to announce that the Association du personnel pr茅retrait茅 et retrait茅 de l鈥橴niversit茅 de Montr茅al (Apr猫s l鈥橴M)听has graciously invited MURA members to join them for a special outing to the in Saint-Armand, located in the picturesque Eastern Townships, on Friday, October 3rd.

As one enthusiastic reviewer put it: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a perfect opportunity to get out of town!鈥� Enjoy a scenic and relaxing bus ride through the rolling hills of Quebec鈥檚 wine country.

Visit Details

Cost: $105 for transportation and winery visit (see registration form for payment instruction)

Transportation will be by bus with three pickup locations:

8:00 a.m. - Sheraton Laval, Laval parking lot

8:45 a.m. 鈥� Universit茅 de Montr茅al - 1526, boul. du Mont-Royal, Outremont 鈥� 脡douard- Montpetit Metro station

9:45 a.m. 鈥� Jean Coutu pharmacy, Rue du Lux, Brossard

The day will include:

• A guided tour of the winery
• A wine tasting experience
• A delicious lunch
• Time to reconnect with colleagues and meet fellow retirees from Universit茅 de Montr茅al

Members are invited to attend the Entraide B茅n茅vole M茅tro鈥檚 (EBM) 40th Anniversary High Tea!

EBM provides services, free of charge, to seniors aged 60 and over, experiencing temporary or permanent loss of autonomy and who live in central Downtown, Montr茅al and part of Westmount, Qu茅bec. Their听goal for seniors is to include them in the community, increase their quality of life and help them remain autonomous, while living on their own.

The afternoon will include raffles, entertainment, food, and of course, a celebratory tea service with the EBM community.听

Exhibit of John Little paintings
Ch芒teau Ramezay until September 28th

The exhibition hosts around听30 artworks听from听14 private collections, as well as preparatory material from the artist's studio archives. Let yourself be transported by Little's vibrant colours, winter sceneries, and Montr茅al's unique architectural landscape. Who knows, maybe you'll recognize a beloved street corner among听his works...听

Considered to be one of Canada's foremost urban artists, John Little devoted his career to preserving the architectural heritage of Montr茅al. However, not much is known of him, Little having refused听throughout his life to partake in interviews and exhibitions. From St. Henri to the Plateau-Mont-Royal, his paintings preserve the richness of urban life during the 1950s and the 1960s.听
