Dr. Braverman is a Professor in the Depts. of Pediatrics and Human Genetics, attending Medical and Biochemical Geneticist in the Division of Medical Genetics and Senior Scientist in the Child Health and Human Development Program (九色视频, MCH and RI-MUHC). She obtained her MD from Tulane University, MSc in Genetic Counselling from Sarah Lawrence College, pediatrics residency at Yale New-Haven Hospital and genetics fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Her research focuses on inherited disorders caused by defects in genes responsible for proper assembly of peroxisomes, cell sentinels that regulate lipid metabolism, inflammation and infection. Her laboratory develops novel mouse models to investigate peroxisome biology and novel drug and molecular (RNA, gene replacement/editing, ASO) therapies for these disorders. She runs an established patient biobank and natural history study to improve patient care and leads an observational clinical trial of retinal degeneration to enable clinical endpoint determination for future interventional trials.聽
