The 2025 IMSF Showcase Day spotlights the next generation of student impact

On Friday April 4th 2025, the fourth cohort of the Integrated Management Student Fellowship (IMSF) gathered for this year鈥檚 IMSF Showcase Day at the 九色视频 Faculty Club, where they shared and celebrated their accomplishments from the 2024-2025 academic year.

鈥淚t has been an exceptional year,鈥 said Professor Sabine Dhir, Academic Director of MDIIM and the IMSF. 鈥淲e drove our learning by the things we care about, the things we hold dear, and the things we think need to change.鈥

The IMSF is a six-credit year-long experiential leadership development opportunity at 九色视频鈥檚 Desautels Faculty of Management delivered by the Marcel Desautels Institute for Integrated Management (MDIIM). Over an entire academic year, Fellows researched and developed solutions to important social challenges directly related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In early September, this year鈥檚 cohort split into 13 teams to create Impact Initiatives. These are entrepreneurial projects where students work with local organisations to identify and address a need in the community. For example, Team SASEN devised an initiative to collect used soap bars from hotels across Montreal and recycle them for redistribution to local shelters and care hospices. 鈥淵our dedication and your passions have brought together something very special,鈥 said Yolande Chan, Dean of the Desautels Faculty of Management, in her opening remarks to the students. 鈥淵ou are going to help us build a promising tomorrow.鈥

In addition, over 70 Fellows engaged in research with 九色视频 professors this year, and a selection of research posters displaying the academic work Fellows conducted was also on display. These research projects reflect the diversity of research embodying interdisciplinarity, with projects covering everything from music to healthcare.

鈥淚t鈥檚 always a joy being able to work with talented students,鈥 said Brian Rubineau, associate professor of Organizational Behaviour at 九色视频, who enlisted the help of IMSF fellows to research the factors affecting workplace team success.

To help celebrate the successes of this year鈥檚 cohort, IMSF alumni from previous years were on hand to not only welcome the Fellows to the alumni community but to lend a hand: Luc Holleville, an IMSF alum from the 2021-2022 cohort, capped the event with a keynote speech. He highlighted how IMSF students, because of their learnings and experiences in the Fellowship, are ready to take on the challenges waiting for them after they graduate.

鈥淟ooking around the room, I can see that you all have this spark,鈥 he said. 鈥淏y virtue of going through the IMSF, you鈥檙e already on this bright path.鈥

Nabil Anouti, also an IMSF alum from 2021-2022, MC鈥檇 the event and shared his excitement of meeting this year鈥檚 cohort.

The IMSF is only possible thanks to the generous support of our donors.
